Depending on the advertisers agreement, the method of CPM will earn you cash when you achieved the number of impression/number of visitors viewed your blog/websites per month. As for google adsense, it will vary on the ads itself where some of the ads are less the cost and some are very high value. Below are google adsense eCPM example:
